Look up 3 beat weaves, corkscrew, fountains, isolations, flowers, crossers are good, meltdowns, the list goes on. But a good way to start is the 2 beat into the 3 beat. Look up nick woolsey and playpoi he's the best for teaching the beginnings

tennisballs, slit them to let the air out, put them in long socks...and you have practice poi, theres thousand of poi moves known and listed on various youtube videos so get watching and studying...prepare to hit yourself alot (in the bawls if your a guy) Ive spent 4 years doing poi and learning a new trick here and there, its only now that im pretty fluid moving from trick to trick and getting some nu tech moves in there. i find new stuff every week to learn :)

can somebody who knows what they're talking about message me and tell me how I can start this? I have microlights that I can do only basic stuff on, this type of poi looks much more expressive and manipulative. I obviously wouldn't get to try fire for quite some time, but can somebody suggest what kind of poi to start out with? ones that preferably won't be incredibly hard so when I beat myself I dont knock myself out lol. where should I start, how do I learn moves? thank you (:

Doubtful. I've seen and enjoyed some of ChronicStars videos before, and Katya's face, build, and hair color look different from Valrie's (chronicstar). Plus, Valrie is from the US while Katya is Russian (AFAIK). Nonetheless, I think I'll need to visit this Burning Man someday.. ^_^

Totally awesome. She looks like a fire fairy. She's just so comfortable with her flow and stays pretty much with the music. She just never seems to stop moving at one point through lower, middle, and upper space with not just the fire but her whole body. It was totally awesome to see.
