Wow, I've been doing it all wrong this entire time, MZ.. 24 hours after
inoculation and I have a ton of visible growth. Thanks bro. -olas.

Автор MZshrooms ( назад)
I have known several growers that boil substrate. The reason why I don't
like to boil substrate is you either have to dump it in the water, then
wring it out with your hand, OR you have to put it in a bag and make sure
the bag doesn't melt. Doing this is not practical enough for me, I just use
my pressure cooker, but there is always more than one way to skin a cat. LC
wont work out most of the time boiling. Its hard to get the liquid in the
glass jar to boil too. 15 psi = 250 degrees F!

Автор cody collette ( назад)
My first attempt resulted with good product and i just used a pot to boil
my substrate, although it was not liquid culture that may be a key factor.
- love the videos keep it up :)

Автор MZshrooms ( назад)
I tried to do this :P It didn't work out well for me, stuck to my
fingers.... I am sure I did it wrong somehow though.

Автор MZshrooms ( назад)
Then don't waste your time or spores. I am sure theres some people who will
tell you it can be done without one. I am sure 80% of their stuff
contaminates :P good luck AND GET A PC :)

What if a pressure cooker isn't available

Автор Caleb Bryant ( назад)
Thank you MZShrooms for all your videos. I have one suggestion that may
help you prepare your syringe holes. When smearing the RTV sealant, use a
wet finger to shape and smoosh the silicone. It wont stick to a wet finger.
This is what professional painters do when spreading caulk or silicone.
Thanks again for such informative videos.

Hello, I am a vendor of spores and live cultures comercially. I have over
50 live cultures of edible and medicinal cultures with these very lids. If
you do not crimp the brass insert your polyfil will fall out possibly, and
you will be allowing for TOO MUCH fae which will cause evaporation etc. You
dont want to crimp it compleley shut of course. What you can do is leave
the ring loose in the PC and cover the top with foil to prevent water from
getting in. Tighten it when they are cool! :)

Автор NMWTS3 ( назад)
So i finally got around to trying your TEK, however, I believe there might
be a flaw in your lid design? At least in my experience (bad luck maybe), I
don't believe that the brass fitting, when crimped, allows for enough air
to released from the jars when in the PC, and my jars exploded. Have you
had this problem? I am going to try it again without crimping the end of
the fitting. I believe this will solve my problem. NMWTs3

No I don't think so, as long as you use a light colored corn syrup. The
point of the light Karo is to make sure the LC stays clear, so you can
tell what is growing, and how much there is. If you dont use a light
colored corn syrup it will still work though, probably. I have never used
any other corn syrup. All you need is 4-5% sugars to volume of water. That
is the perfect liquid culture.

Автор killer12227 ( назад)
I just want to start by saying I love all your teks (: But i was wondering
if it had to be Karo corn syrup. You seem to point out KARO in your thread
and video so i was wondering if there is any difference from Karo corn
syrup from other syrups.

That's pretty sweet. Thanks!

You might be surprised about the stuff that still floats around to this day
about cultivation, if you have never heard that question about h202. Rule
number one. Don't read 30 year old books, or anything from the shroomery
that sounds similar to a sales gimmick LOL :) I totally agree with you
though.

Автор MZshrooms ( назад)
Using h202 is rediculous. If you buy your spores/cultures from the right
people, you don't need to be using any h202, because it doesnt do anything
anyway. There are very few things you can do to prevent competitor fungi
from growing in your cultures, if you are growing fungi. Chemicals that are
toxic to one fungi are toxic to the other 99% of fungi that exist on the
earth. Using h202 does nothing. As for bacteria, you can use gram negative
antibiotics in agar/lc. :) Thanks for you nice words!

Автор jake woodby ( назад)
i dont know, im asking. you seem to have it down and know what you are
doing. ive read many teks on the different mushroom sites. it gets
confusing, from what i see of your tek none of that other stuff is needed,
your LC`s are growing like crazy. i`d b e greatfull if you posted more teks.

Автор MZshrooms ( назад)
1. Agar is not an ingredient in liquid cultures. Agar is used to solidify
liquid. 2. How exactly would h202 keep contaminant fungi/bacteria at bay
and not the fungi that you are growing (no using h202 is a waste of good
teeth whitener) ? LC will last depending on how you use it and how you
store it. I have an LC of Reishi in my fridge right now thats 2 years old ;)

Автор jake woodby ( назад)
so there`s no need for agar or light malt extract or potato dextrose? just
Karo and water? no H2o2 to help keep contams at bay? this is an easy
looking tek, thanks bud! how long does the LC usualy last, should it be
used up pritty quick?

Автор Nik Weinstein ( назад)
Dude, you are awesome that you make a video about making liquid culture AND
you have respect for property rights. Usually, it's one or the other.
You're a real hero. (not being sarcastic) :)

Автор MZshrooms ( назад)
Micropore tape will not come off in the PC. Just make sure is the correct
tape. I never shake an LC. Definitely do not shake them with this lid type.
if the micropore, or polyfil get wet with nutrient liquid, it could be bad.
When you want to use it, just suck liquid into the syringe, and squirt it
back out a few times to break up the myc.

Автор autogarsas ( назад)
micropore dont come away after presure cooking? And how often (if any)
times need to shake after incubating? P.S. Already ordered most of the
needed. Will do thread at shroomology, when start doing.

Автор MZshrooms ( назад)
I have never tried to do so before with dried myc. I use spores, or living
myc. I am not really sure how you dry something biologically either. Also
depending on the species that you want to inoculate the LC with, will
determine the exact conditions. There's A LOT of commercially available
species, so I can't really answer your question. Also, for some strange
reason, I feel like you already know the answer to your own question.

Автор autogarsas ( назад)
Can i inoculate it with biologicaly dried mycelium? Also, how long and in
which exactly conditions i can store it?

Автор MZshrooms ( назад)
Dont pressure cook the LC for more than 30 min @ 15 PSI, and there will be
no caramelization.. if thats even a word LOL

Автор MZshrooms ( назад)
Enjoy, there is much more to come. Not much sound, because I respect
peoples copyrights, but you can listen to your own music. Please visit the
link in the description for more in depth information. This is just an LC
tek, nothing major.
