Free TV with OTA antenna and FTA Satellite dish.

Watch TV in High Definition without paying the cable company extra. Use an OTA antenna to watch ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW and PBS in high def as well as all of their digital sub channels that are often not carried by cable companies. With an FTA Satellite receiver you can watch hundreds of English and foreign language unencrypted broadcasts for free with no monthly fees. All of this is entirely legal in spite of what cable and pay TV services would like you to think. Depending on your location, you can use rabbit ears or an outdoor antenna to watch free high def programs with no fees. Use an FTA satellite dish for even more channels, all free. There are even OTA DVR's so you can record, pause and time shift live TV. If you are looking to reduce (or even eliminate) you monthly cable bill, try these sources for free programming.

Speak for yourself. I have had a FTA system for years and enjoy it. I like
Al Jazzerra English, Russia Today, Kuwait 2, CCTV 9, Press TV, JN1, Ebru,
Fight Box, CNC World, RTV, Tuff TV, Montana PBS, ABC News 1, The Pentagon
Channel, and many other English Language Channels plus hundred of great
feeds. I also have a C band FTA dish where I receive all networks 100%
FREE. And it's nothing like those live tv programs you download to the PC.
No waiting for a channel to pop up and many station are HD.

Автор reamce ( назад)
Yeah, I watch it pretty much every day. I'm sort of a news junkie and the
FTA dish gets me RT (check out their stuff here on YouTube), Xinhua, an
English news network from China, PressTV, Aljazeera English. It also gets
EBRU which is sort of like Discovery, River Broadcasting, weird infomercial
channel, the occasional cable network feed and all sorts of weird religious
programs. Lots in English as well as every other imaginable language. It
won't replace your cable though.

Автор Ryan Boverhuis ( назад)
do you still get anything worth watching with your dish fta setup? im
thinking of getting a set up to improve my cord cutting life.

Автор coolrob73 ( назад)
but if you want other channels like cnn, fox, usa ,sci fi espn this is
useless its like those live tv programs you download for your computer it
only has mostly foreign channels

one person likes paying the cable/satellite companies.

Автор reamce ( назад)
I still use the same indoor antenna for HD signals and the same dish and
receiver to get the FTA. I've bought new bluray players and stuff but I'm
still using the same things you see in this video.

Автор reamce ( назад)
No, just plug your antenna into the back of the hdtv.

Автор ralphgraham23 ( назад)
Ota requires an digital converter box?

Автор capecodunderground ( назад)
this video is 2 years old now, you still got this same setup? anything new
on this?

Автор reamce ( назад)
Yes, you must have a receiver/antenna on each TV. I think there is some
gadget you can buy that "broadcasts" OTA signals within the house to each
TV but I don't think one exists for FTA.

Автор rebecca hannah ( назад)
hey was wondering do u need a receiver for every room

Автор reamce ( назад)
For FTA Satellite in North America you must have at least a 36 inch dish. I
don't think your Directv Dish will work and you definitely will have to
purchase a new LNB (the thing on the end of the dish that points toward the
sky).

Автор thesmashtvnetwork ( назад)
i rember ages ago a reborad casting kit that was anlog now i cant find it
my idea was to use 4 dtv then re broad cast it in the house and have 4 ant
point in dif spot any idea on what to do

Автор kingscross30 ( назад)
@reamce I Cant find the website of talor enterprises.

Автор reamce ( назад)
@wonder111000 Not that I know about.

Автор reamce ( назад)
@kingscross30 I bought it from a local Satellite dealer. The name of the
place is Taylor Enterprises. The guy does it as a hobby and was kind enough
to come over and point the dish for me. He is strictly local.

Автор kingscross30 (173 года назад)
@reamce You didnt answer my question. Where did you get the FTA satellite
dish and Receiver From?

Автор reamce ( назад)
@kingscross30 The receiver is a TRAXIS 3550 and is easy to set up. Just
follow the onscreen menus. It scans all transponders on whatever satellite
it is pointed at within 2 minutes. The dish is a 36 inch Winegard. It comes
with a diagram on how to put it together. You just need a screwdriver.
There is nothing to setting up the receiver but I had a satellite dealer
come and install the dish on the roof because he had a signal finder
gadget. It would take me forever to find the signal.

Автор kingscross30 ( назад)
@reamce What is the name of the FTA satellite dish and receiver? Could you
make a tutorial on how to setup the FTA receiver and satellite dish, it
would be very helpful. Thanks

Автор wonder111000 ( назад)
I wonder instead of having an outdoor dish as an option is there also an
indoor dish antenna to put in your house also

Автор jadonSteve ( назад)
thanks for posting this video im saying this cause all the other people
that have satellites are mostly spanish, mexican or pakistani english
satellite videos are rare here on youtube

Автор capecodunderground ( назад)
@reamce-thanks for the info!

Автор reamce ( назад)
The receiver is a Traxis 3350 and the dish is a Winegard 33 inch. I bought
it from a local dealer. He came over to the house with his signal finder. I
did the work EXCEPT for pointing the dish. That was his job. I would have
never found the right spot without his signal finding device (or at least
it would have taken a long time). Putting the dish itself together is easy
and setting up the reciever is no different from any other component.
Scanning the sats for channels is also easy.

Автор capecodunderground ( назад)
what name brand FTA setup did you get? did you set it up yourself?

Автор soadeds ( назад)
@unoder i was having the same problem with my store bought antenna, then i
found diy antennas on here that work great. Sorry i dont have a link but if
you do a search for "diy grey hoverman antenna, it cheap, easy and works
way better than store bought.

Автор rotterlyle ( назад)
i live in hamilton ontario canada and i can get 12 hd channels with a pair
of cheap rabbit ears from the dollar store.. thats not 2 bad

Автор reamce ( назад)
@unoder Does Canada have something like ANTENNA WEB where you can enter
your address and find out what channels are available in your area and what
sort of antenna you need to bring them in? If you live near the broadcast
towers you are in luck but if you are far away or in an area where
buildings block the signal you will need a larger outdoor antenna. I got
lucky cause I'm only 5 miles from most of the towers. Best of luck to you.

Автор unoder ( назад)
Paid $60 for a HDTV Antenna... I don't even get 1 digital channel. Mind
you, I do live in Canada. But I though that was where this was first
discovered.... anyways. I'm highly annoyed, I bought it to watch the
superbowl in hd and I can barely watch an episode of two and a half men
without getting annoyed with the static. Any tips my friend?

Автор reamce ( назад)
@21wf 49 channels is a lot! I thought I was doing good getting 30. Yep, the
definitely look better than what is on cable. The FTA satellite dish has a
lot of interesting progams too.

Автор 21wf ( назад)
I just recently got a $23 HD ota antenna. My state is bordered from the
north, east, south, and west. So I get 49 channels with an indoor antenna.
I'm wondering what I would get with a more powerful outdoor antenna. Some
channels on there beat cable. For instance theCOOLTV beats MTV, Country
beats CMT. There are 24/7 movie channels, etc. Most channels are full HD.

Автор cyberlight22 ( назад)
that is what we are going to do soon and we are going to use are computer
to streem netfliks but this is cool
