depending on how new the "the droid elis" is u might want 2 get the htc i had a samsung omnia until i lost it and it was pretty hard 2 get the right icon with the touch screen but there is a windows app store although the majority of apps cost money

This "phone" is not for you if you only care to make calls
& send SMS. This is a piece of jewel for tweakers &
people who know what to make out of a powerful little
machine like this.
Btw, @2cleanforyou:
If you had the Omnia, you wouldn't have missed it.
There is an app (amongst thousands of others) that
gets the phone's position by GPS & texts it to a number
that you have specified. Do that with your 3gs... :p

I had my iPhone stolen and my mom gave this to me for a backup and let me tell you, the texting on this phone is horrible. I hated texting. You have to press the screen so hard just to get it and most of the time it would press other buttons. Even the stick that came with it hardly ever worked. I would advise you to get an iPhone and not this one because this is the worst phone I ever had in my life. I hoped this helped.

I actually have this phone and I want to get rid of it asap... it's a great disappointment seeing where I had a choice between this or the iphone 3g. My sister has an iphone and the iphone kicks its ass in every single way that I can think of. You have to have like little fingers to be able to type properly, I can't update this phone, it lags like a b**** and unresponsive. I can't even back up my contacts for some odd ball reason and I checked all over the internet for this.

dude honestly, you're probably better off getting a more current samsung phone...i've never used this phone before, but seriously, it looks absolutely terrrrrrrrrrrrrrible compared to what samsung offers in its newer android and Windows Phone 7 devices. this...this looks ridiculous. i would be surprised if it even HAS 3G
plus this version of windows mobile is a long-dead OS..
if you're keen on a windows samsung, check out the Omnia 7 before you buy this phone, if you haven't already :S
