lol, when you download Maplestory, click on the old fashion way UNDER the Maple Download link. Where it says "Click Here" you download that. It takes 15 minutes-1 hour but you can save it and re install over and over again without waiting hours.

GO TO THE START BUTTON (BOTTOM LEFT) THEN YOU GO TO COMPUTER
THEN LOCAL DISK(C:)
GO TO NEXON FOLDER
MAPLESTORY
THEN TAKE MAPLESTORY AND DRAG MAPLESTORY INTO THE MAPLESTORY FOLDER. DON'T CREATE ANOTHER 1 THERE IS ALREADY 1 IN THE LOCAL DISK/NEXON FOLDER! THUMBS UP SO EVERYONE CAN SEE

that error code is when your graphics card or something is broken or corrupted. LOL im answering a lil late ;p but yeah.. you can adjust your graphics or some crap in the screen resolution thing, and put it to full. If its already full and you cant find anymore solutions then..i guess you needa buy a new computer. :L

1:Turn AVG OFF (didnt fix it)
2:Run as Admin (didnt fix it)
3:Make shortcut, (DIDNT FIX IT)
i i got to website it tells me to reinstall it all over but i share internet :(

you need to COMPLECTY uninstall maple story and install again you need to delete AhLab too

can someone please help me when i click on maplestory it says "The application failed to intialize properly (0xc000142) Click OK to terminate" i 've tried disabling DEP and re-installing, nothing is working!!!!!! I've tried changing the compatability and running as administrator! Anyone know a fix for this?

Another easier way: Delete Maplestory and download it again :D lol i hope it works it works sometime... :D

can some one help me because i click on maplestory sends me to the website i click on start game and then it says "An error has occured during installation pleas try again" after that i click ok and something else pops out and says "ERROR CODE =-40 Installation failed .(14402,32)" help
