Here's the thing, technically, they didn't hack it, they had a bunch of users go on it and overload it, something that happens every once in a while by non-organized events. Heck, youtube even went through it once. The gov is lying. They just don't want a rebellion however, what they did is on illegal.

Let's all make a new way to share the music we love. itunes doesn't have rare demos or every song by every one of our favorite artist.
I propose buying USB's filling them up with downloaded music and distributing them or selling them. Then we'll actually make money off music that isn't ours, after all isn't that what they're all afraid of?

Dont get me wrong i love megaupload as the next one, and the idea of free internet aka fuck SOPA. But gotta admit this is one hell of an effective way to scare other major sites. It screams "No million dollar sharing site/CO/CEO is safe now when it comes to movie/music piracy".

But Megaupload is a New Zealand based company. Sounds like the US goverments abuse of power has turned it into a dictatorship. Hopefully 'MegaBox' the advertising revenue sharing technology service will help unsigned artists sell their music. iTunes would do well to use this.

What we need now more than ever is an Independent President.
I don't mean an Independent Party politician.But and Independent American that will step in between the 2 major parties and stop what is happening and start rescinding much of which is wrong.

UNFORTUNATELY....and i hate to say this, and i hope im wrong...but i doubt i am. i support anonymous...but inevitably the powers that be will win in the end, they just have too much power and too many people will do nothing to help. the vast majority of the world will simply do as they always do and just sit there on their couches stuffing their fat faces. shutting down websites and causing problems will only delay things at best

It is amazing that Megaupload is being shut-down before YouTube. I can roam this site right now and find plenty of copyrighted material. The USA government has way too much power if it can extradite people for doing nothing wrong. Add to that the fact that only upper class Americans can affect the Government here and you have yourself a messed up system.
