They worst single attack on Spetsnaz would be either the attack on OMON unit from Novosibrisk, or the attack on the GRU convoy which both had about 30 casualties. The worst is probably the battle for height 776 where russia lost 84 troops by an attack of approx. 2000 terrorist in which 400 of them were killed by VDV....so no where his claims of 200 ... He is liar

First of all it's a legend of "Juba the baghdad sniper". It's not one guy, it's a whole group of snipers... And c'mon, these guys ain't that good, they killed and wounded few NATO soldiers, shooting from like 100-200 meters. Second - USMC snipers took down houndreds of those, including the one shooting from the trunk. Third - what the hell? This is Spetsnaz vid. Enjoy the slaughter.

In the US we have an expression: One bad apple can spoil the whole bushel. This is to mean that just because certain members of Spetsnaz acted in a way that might not have been in keeping with the Spetsnaz ideal, now all of Spetsnaz get to share the shame. Just one soldier went on that rampage in Afghanistan, killing children and civilians. But it shamed everyone in the US. At least I feel ashamed for his actions.

Hostages casualties in Moscow theater and Beslan was fault of operational commanders and politicians not spetsnaz! In Nord-Ost - to use gas there was the correct decision (terrorists could blow up easily
all theater), during storm not one of hostage wasn't lost and all terrorists were killed in the head but then command not revealed what gas was used and the rescued hostages began to die of poisoning - in what here fault of special troops?

The Spetsnaz were, unwise, in retrospect, when they pumped gas into the Moscow Theater back in 2002. Spetsnaz DID kill almost 130 hostages when they decided to use gas. So the Spetsnaz might not have shot the hostages, but they sure gassed the hell out of them. There was also the Kizlyar-Pervomayskoye hostage crisis, that got messy, but hey, it was a war. The Budyonnovsk hospital hostage crisis got a little out of hand as well, Spetsnaz was there.

It's okay to feel mad. I never suggested ANY armed force eliminated crime, as it seems foolish to me to try to fight violence with violence. The Spetsnaz have a reputation for civilian casualties, this is a fact. I also think that being particularly good at killing is nothing to admire. Stay mad, it's good for your heart.
