Nice, how did it run, have you tryed fishing yet? I bought a couple of
dexter wedges and would like to know how to make a good spinner as I
thought they were expensive as I have to add shipping to Spain always, I'm
going to have a go making my own spinner next time.

with these.

Brilliant as usual......you`re a genius. It`s also good that you`ve taken
time out to experiment with different blade materials. What have you caught
with them ???

THANK YOU \(^_-)

I think it has to do with weight, copper and brass are a lot heavier than
aluminium and produce a throb. I wanted to use aluminium from a can for
these lures but i found even the thicker bottom of the can didn't produce
enough of a vibration. Aluminium works great for buzz blades because its
fixed in the spinning position and the shape of the blade produces the
vibration. Another material i experimented with was plastic but again it
had no weight. As for flash aluminium is a great. cheers

HI, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS I'VE MADE A BLADE OUT OF REDBULL CAN AND USED COPPER
WIRE TO MAKE THE CLEVIS, THE Q. IS SOME BLADES MAKE SOUND (VIBRATION) AND
SOME VISUAL(FLASH) I'M GUESSING THE THE CAN WOULD MAKE THE VISUAL EFFECT
RATHER THEN THE SOUND AM I RIGHT? WHAT DO YOU THINK? THNK YOU!

Good luck with your further trials , .......cheers , Dieter

the one with the large plastic bead has a smaller bead under the blade and
this one actually ran the best which surprised me but i think it is because
the blade is pierced a nearer the middle. I looked up Moerrum spinners
which i have never seen before and i really like the idea and may give it a
go but i think you are right the tip angle of blade is probably quite
important. Thanks for stopping by

Probably try kinking off the upper tip of the blade with the hole for about
45° to 60°, ...this way you'd achieve a better bearing surface against the
upper bead , also a smaller metal bead instead of a larger plastic one
would reduce friction to help the blade to revolve easier . Google term
"Moerrum Spinnaren" to look after a pic of that famous Swedish
weight-forward spinner , then you'd see , what I mean . Greetz , Dieter

I went out to try them today against spinners with a clevis, they produced
more of a throb than the type with a clevis but it wasn't day for catching
fish. I caught a small pike on a wobbler and spent the rest of the
afternoon dragging weed. I used these a few years ago on small streams for
trout and they worked very well but i am not sure about pike.

I like the simplicity of these spinners , .......but without a clevis the
blades won't spin at sucha high frequency , I reckon . Have you caught with
these before('cos that's all that counts) ? Welldone , ....cheers , 61diemai
