I'm looking to get a tripod myself. I just saw this at my local Walmart for around the same price you mentioned in this vid. I currently have a JVC Everio camcorder with nothing to set it upon except for books. This may be my first tripod purchase.

A tripod, the first investment I ever did for my channel :) I also bought something around that pricepoint and I'm still using it after almost 1 and a half years.
The top part of your tripod looks exactly like mine btw. Probably made in the same factory. Mine's a Hama Star 61. ;)

very nice purchase Rick, I bought a really small tri pod last year, then my camera died hahaha I need a new camera. then i'll buy a bigger tripod. lately all my videos have been shakey cause I use my ipod and my hands shake a lot

I have one, but not a Targus, just a cheapy but does the job holding the camera. a must for doing computer videos.

The crank is probably stiff because the brake is locked down.

That hook is nice to hang a case when you are outside and don't want to hold it or put it on the ground.
